Whitepaper · v1.0

Spend on-chain value in the real world.

RobinCards turns crypto and tokenized equities into a Mastercard® you can use anywhere — funded from a balance you control, settled on Robinhood Chain.

01 · Abstract

A card that speaks both languages

Digital assets have won the store-of-value and speculation game, but they still lose at the checkout counter. RobinCards closes that last mile: a Mastercard-network card, virtual or physical, that draws from a spending balance you fund on-chain with ETH, the $RCARDS token, or tokenized stocks such as NVDA, AAPL and TSLA.

Deposits are verified transparently on Robinhood Chain, credited to your account in USD terms at live market rates, and made spendable in seconds. There is no lengthy onboarding, no idle capital parked with a custodian, and no exposure to the full balance of your wallet — you load only what you intend to spend.

02 · Problem

On-chain wealth, off-chain friction

  • Liquidation tax. Spending crypto usually means selling on an exchange, waiting for a bank transfer, then swiping — days of latency and multiple fee layers.
  • Custody risk. Most "crypto cards" require you to pre-fund a custodial account and trust a third party with your balance indefinitely.
  • Dead tokenized assets. Tokenized equities are excellent to hold but nearly impossible to spend. Their utility ends at the portfolio screen.
  • Opaque rails. Users rarely see how or when their deposit was credited, or at what rate.
03 · Solution

The RobinCards model

RobinCards is a thin, transparent layer between your wallet and the global Mastercard acceptance network. You connect a wallet, send an on-chain deposit to a published treasury address, and the protocol credits a USD-denominated spending balance after confirming the transaction on Robinhood Chain. From that balance you issue cards and spend.

Load-what-you-spend. Your card balance is separate from your wallet. The system never has custody of your broader holdings — only the amount you explicitly deposit is ever in play.
04 · How it works

Four steps, on-chain end to end

1

Connect

Link an EVM wallet — injected or WalletConnect — and sign in with a message (SIWE). No password, no email required.

2

Fund

Send ETH, $RCARDS, or a tokenized stock to the treasury address on Robinhood Chain. The transaction hash is submitted and the deposit verified against the chain.

3

Credit

The deposit is valued in USD at live market rates and added to your spending balance. Prices are pulled live per asset at the moment of credit.

4

Spend

Issue a virtual card instantly, or order physical on higher tiers, and pay anywhere Mastercard is accepted — online, in-store, or via Apple Pay / Google Pay.

05 · Assets

Fund with what you already hold

Each supported asset is priced independently and in real time when it hits the treasury, so you are always credited at a fair market value.

  • ETH — native gas asset of Robinhood Chain, priced against a live USD feed.
  • $RCARDS — the protocol token; funded with a preferential fee and priced on-chain from its liquidity pool.
  • Tokenized stocks — NVDA, AAPL and TSLA today, priced from live equity market data. More symbols follow as they are listed.
06 · Cards

Five tiers, one network

Higher tiers unlock larger limits and richer formats by staking $RCARDS. The entry Wraith card requires no stake — anyone can hold one.

07 · Token

$RCARDS — the utility layer

$RCARDS aligns the people who use the network with the network itself. It is not a promise of profit; it is the key that unlocks the product.

  • Tier access. Staking $RCARDS raises your card tier, limits and formats — from Shadow up to the flagship Specter.
  • Preferential funding. Topping up your balance in $RCARDS carries the lowest fee of any supported asset.
  • On-chain pricing. The token is valued directly from its liquidity pool, so credited value tracks the live market with no oracle middleman.
Transparent supply. The token contract is public and verifiable on the Robinhood Chain explorer; the live address is published on the RobinCards home page once minted.
08 · Architecture

Verifiable by design

RobinCards is deliberately minimal. The trust boundary is the chain, not our servers.

  • Non-custodial deposits. Funds move directly from your wallet to a published treasury address in a transaction you sign. The protocol reads the chain; it cannot pull from your wallet.
  • On-chain verification. Every top-up is confirmed by inspecting the transaction and its receipt on Robinhood Chain — native transfers and ERC-20 Transfer logs alike — before any balance is credited. Each transaction can only be used once.
  • Sign-In With Ethereum. Authentication is a wallet signature (SIWE). There are no stored passwords to leak.
  • Regulated card rails. Card issuance runs over licensed Mastercard-network issuing infrastructure, keeping the product compliant while the funding layer stays on-chain.
09 · Fees

Simple and stated up front

  • Funding fee depends on the asset — lowest for $RCARDS, standard for ETH and tokenized stocks. The exact rate is shown before you confirm.
  • Card issuance is a flat, disclosed cost per card at checkout — no hidden markups on the amount you load.
  • No monthly fees, no dormancy fees. You are only charged when you act.
10 · Roadmap

Where we go next

  • Now. Virtual, physical and metal cards, ETH / $RCARDS / tokenized-stock funding, Apple Pay & Google Pay, live on-chain pricing, five card tiers and a growing tokenized-equity catalogue.
  • Next. Multi-currency spend, rewards paid in $RCARDS, and richer in-app portfolio and spend analytics.
  • Later. Community governance over fees and listings, plus deeper on-chain rails as Robinhood Chain matures.
